Perhaps of Ritual Significance, 2020 - ongoing

Inkjet prints

In Perhaps of Ritual Significance, I visually examine folklore artifacts. The work centres around the fear of the unknown, researching rites and customs that have been forgotten. I have visited and documented sites in connection to these myths, such as the only known werewolf grave in Europe and places thought to be used to ritualistically transform humans into animals. I recreate objects and reenact different rites in my studio, creating my own physical and fictitious archive around this subject. The objects created are entangled with both historical and personal meanings, not always fully articulated to the viewer.
